Psyllium is a fiber extracted from the husks of the seeds of the Plantago ovata plant. Adequate consumption of Psyllium helps in the treatment of constipation, diarrhea, colitis, hemorrhoids, anal fissures and Crohn's disease. It can also be consumed to promote satiety, being effective in weight reduction diets and an ally in maintaining heart health, cholesterol levels and diabetes.
How to Take: Add 1 tablespoon to at least 355 ml of water or juice, mix vigorously and consume immediately. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. Start with a smaller amount and gradually increase over several weeks.
Psyllium Husk Powder (husk/seed).
Warnings: Psyllium at the intestinal level interferes with the absorption of carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins and medicines, so they should not be taken at the same time. If you are Diabetic, you should monitor your blood glucose whenever you take Psyllium.
