NPRO Ultrabiota 50 Billion CFU probiotic combines 9 patented strains from the Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium genera — including the 5 most internationally studied strains within their species — with dehydrated green banana (65% type II resistant starch) as a fermentable prebiotic fiber. The strains are microencapsulated in 5 layers to preserve viability. The formula is vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and free from declared allergens, suitable for FODMAP diets and low-histamine diets. All strains are patented and none are histamine-producing.
The prebiotic component is dehydrated green banana (Musa paradisiaca, 550 mg, 65% type II resistant starch = 357.5 mg of resistant starch per capsule). Type II resistant starch is a fermentable fiber that is not digested in the small intestine, reaching the large intestine where it can serve as a substrate for bifidobacteria and other commensal species. The formula contains no chemical additives, anti-caking agents, fillers, preservatives, colorants, sugars, or artificial flavors. The coating is hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC, vegetable).
