What is Buffered Vitamin C capsules?
Buffered vitamin C contains high-purity ascorbic acid (vitamin C) together with various mineral carbonates (calcium, magnesium and potassium carbonate), which act as buffers to balance the acidic effect of vitamin C. In this way, better tolerability is achieved and possible acidification of the gastric juice (hyperacidity) is prevented. The buffered vitamin C is therefore particularly recommended for people with a sensitive stomach or intestines.
vitamin C
Vitamin C has been proven to have a positive effect in many different places and in a wide variety of processes in our body.
Vitamin C is the most important water-soluble antioxidant and protects our body from free radicals (harsh substances that can damage tissues and cells). Known causes of this are smoking, stress and an unhealthy diet. Antioxidants render these free radicals harmless and help the body stay healthy.
Vitamin C also contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and nervous system, increases iron absorption and contributes to normal collagen formation and the normal functioning of blood vessels, cartilage and skin.
Vitamin C in our diet
Since our body cannot synthesize vitamin C on its own, we have to get it completely from food.
Vitamin C suppliers are mainly fruit and vegetables and their juices or smoothies. Citrus fruits, kiwis, berries, strawberries and cabbages are particularly rich in vitamin C.
