Which nutrients are included

Menopause is a natural phase in a woman's life when ovarian function ceases. Among the associated physiological changes, the one with the greatest recognized nutritional relevance is bone mass loss.

• Calcium, vitamin D, vitamin K, magnesium, zinc, manganese, phosphorus, and protein contribute to the maintenance of normal bones.
• Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus, and to the maintenance of normal muscle function.
• Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity.
• Magnesium and B-complex vitamins contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to normal psychological function.
  Soy isoflavones have been evaluated by EFSA for vasomotor symptoms and received a negative opinion. Black cohosh, vitex, dong quai, sage, evening primrose oil, and borage oil do not have authorized health claims in the European Union. For this reason, no function is attributed to them on this page.
