Zinc L-carnosine is a complex formed by zinc and L-carnosine, a dipeptide composed of beta-alanine and L-histidine. It is obtained by chemical synthesis and is also known as polaprezinc. Nutrined's Zinkcarnosine presents it in a vegetable capsule, with 75 mg per unit, in a single-ingredient formula — without additional minerals, vitamins, or extracts.

The only component is zinc L-carnosine, a chelate in which zinc is bound to L-carnosine. L-carnosine is a dipeptide consisting of L-histidine and beta-alanine. The compound is obtained by chemical synthesis, which gives it a consistent composition between batches — unlike plant extracts, whose concentration varies.

It is a deliberately narrow formula. It does not combine several ingredients or cover multiple fronts: it provides a single component, in a fixed amount per capsule, with two daily doses.

How it fits in

Compared to conventional zinc sources — picolinate, bisglycinate, gluconate — this is a different complex, with the mineral associated with a dipeptide. Compared to powder presentations, the capsule eliminates the need for dosing. The capsule is vegetable, not gelatin.
