Thorne Phytoprofen contains a special blend of Ayurvedic plant extracts with bromelain, curcumin, and frankincense. The curcumin extract contained here is in phytosome form. Phytosome technology combines plant extracts with phosphatidylcholine (the main component of the cell membrane) and ensures better absorption and bioavailability.

Phytoprofen® combines four plant-derived ingredients with a long tradition of use. Bromelain is an enzyme complex extracted from pineapple, traditionally used in the context of recovery after physical exertion or minor injury. Phytosomal curcumin is obtained from the turmeric root in a complex with sunflower phospholipids, a format that can facilitate its integration into the body. Ginger extract, standardized to gingerols, is an ingredient with a marked presence in traditional medicine for digestive and muscular well-being support. Boswellia extract (or Indian frankincense), standardized to boswellic acids, is another botanical with a long history of traditional use for body balance.
All active ingredients are of botanical origin. The excipients are the hydroxypropyl methylcellulose capsule (cellulose-derived, plant-based) and leucine. The formula does not contain gluten, soy, dairy products, lactose, or animal gelatin — the capsule is entirely plant-based.
To note
- This product should not be used by people taking anticoagulant medication or who are close to surgery, due to the properties of bromelain and curcumin.
- It should not be used simultaneously with cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan) or the chemotherapy drug irinotecan — always consult your doctor.
